Housecall FAQ

Answers to common questions about booking a doctor housecall, what to expect during a visit, and how payments and documentation work.

Doctor Qualifications & Expertise

General medicine is where our expertise lies. We send qualified General Practitioners directly to wherever you're staying, and this approach lets us handle the large majority of health needs comfortably and effectively without you needing to leave home. Reach out to our support team if you'd like to learn more.

Maintaining a high standard for our medical team involves three ongoing steps. During selection, we confirm each doctor holds a valid license and is legally allowed to practice medicine. During verification, doctors go through in-depth training covering general medicine, family practice, and acute care. During monitoring, we perform routine internal quality checks to keep the standard of care and communication consistently high. Together, these steps help guarantee reliable medical care for every housecall.
Yes, every physician on our team communicates comfortably in English, which helps make sure your consultation goes smoothly.
Definitely — our doctors are all fluent English speakers, so your consultation will be clear and easy to follow.
Not at all. All of our physicians are proficient English speakers, which means clear communication is guaranteed during your visit.
Yes. We hold our medical team to a very high bar. Any doctor assigned to your housecall is: (1) fully and legally licensed to practice medicine; (2) extensively trained in general medicine, family practice, or acute care; and (3) regularly reviewed through our internal quality assurance process to guarantee strong outcomes and clear communication.
We're confident in our medical staff's credentials because every doctor we send meets strict criteria: they are legally licensed to practice, they have significant training in general medicine, family medicine, or acute care, and they undergo continuous internal quality reviews focused on patient outcomes and communication.
Every doctor who joins must be fully licensed and legally permitted to practice medicine, have solid training in general medicine, family practice, or acute care, and commit to ongoing internal quality assurance evaluations that keep care and communication standards high.

Symptoms, Conditions & Emergency Care

It's worth arranging a visit if your symptoms are uncomfortable, getting worse, or interfering with your normal routine. If you're not sure, our support team can help you figure out whether a housecall fits your situation — keep in mind we can't give a full diagnosis through chat. Also note this service isn't built for medical emergencies: if you have severe pain, trouble breathing, loss of consciousness, or another sudden crisis, go to an emergency room right away or dial 1669, Thailand's national emergency line, for ambulance and rescue help.
A good rule of thumb is to book a visit once symptoms start causing discomfort, worsening, or disrupting your day-to-day activities. If you're uncertain, contact our support team — while chat can't replace a diagnosis, they can help you judge whether a housecall is suitable. This service is not meant for emergencies, so severe pain, breathing problems, fainting, or any acute crisis calls for immediate emergency hospital care, or dialing 1669 for Thailand's emergency hotline.
Yes, request a visit if symptoms are uncomfortable, progressively worsening, or getting in the way of your daily life. Not sure yet? Our support team can help assess whether a housecall makes sense, even though a complete diagnosis isn't possible over chat. Remember, this service doesn't cover emergencies — severe pain, breathing difficulty, loss of consciousness, or a sudden medical crisis all require immediate emergency hospital attention or a call to 1669, the national emergency hotline in Thailand.
Our doctors handle diagnosis and treatment for most common ailments right at your bedside, including writing prescriptions to get your recovery started. If your case turns out to need a higher level of care — like imaging or lab work — the doctor will help set up your transfer to a hospital. We work with Bangkok Hospital, an internationally accredited facility, for emergency backup. Should the doctor find your condition to be life-threatening, they may suggest an urgent hospital transfer, and a transfer request would then be sent to you through the web app for your review and approval. Keep in mind that anything that happens after the housecall — ambulance rides, hospital treatment, etc. — falls outside our service fee and must be paid for separately with the hospital.
Most everyday health issues can be diagnosed and treated by our doctors without you leaving your bed, prescriptions included. But if a case calls for more advanced testing, such as imaging or labs, the doctor coordinates getting you to a local hospital. Our emergency partner is Bangkok Hospital, a facility with international standards. In a life-threatening scenario, the doctor may recommend an emergency transfer, and you'd receive an approval request for that through the web app. Note that costs after the housecall — ambulance transport, hospital care, and so on — aren't part of our fee and are billed directly by the hospital.
In the vast majority of cases, our doctors can diagnose and treat you fully at home, including issuing prescriptions so recovery can begin right away. When a situation demands something beyond what's possible at home — like lab tests or imaging — the doctor arranges your move to a nearby hospital, and we partner with Bangkok Hospital for that kind of emergency support. If a life-threatening condition is identified, an emergency transfer may be recommended, which you'll be asked to approve via a request sent through the web app. Any charges that come up after the housecall, including ambulance and hospital costs, are separate from our service fee and are settled directly with the hospital.

  • Infections: urinary tract infections, ear infections, and eye infections like pink eye
  • Minor Injuries: sprains, strains, and localized pain

No — rapid tests, swab tests, and lab-based screenings such as COVID-19, Influenza A/B, blood work, or X-rays aren't part of our housecall service. What we do offer at home is a check of your vital signs and a general physical assessment, covering things like blood pressure and heart rate. Any advanced diagnostic testing needs to happen at a hospital or clinic.
That's not something we provide — our housecalls don't include rapid tests, swabs, or laboratory screenings like COVID-19, Influenza A/B, blood tests, or X-rays. Instead, our doctors focus on vital sign checks and general physical exams, measuring things such as blood pressure and heart rate. For more advanced diagnostics, a hospital or medical facility visit is required.
No, our doctors don't perform rapid, swab, or lab-based screenings — including COVID-19, Influenza A/B, blood tests, or X-rays — during home visits. The in-home service is centered on vital signs monitoring and a standard physical exam. Anything requiring complex diagnostics has to be done at a hospital or medical facility.
Yes — through our partnership with Bangkok Hospital, we can provide emergency support whenever it's needed. Should the attending doctor decide the situation is life-threatening, they may recommend transferring you to the hospital, and the request for that transfer would be sent to you through the web app for your review and approval.
Yes, we're able to arrange emergency assistance through our partnership with Bangkok Hospital. If your doctor determines your condition is life-threatening, an emergency hospital transfer may be recommended, and you'd get a transfer request via the web app to approve.
We can, thanks to our partnership with Bangkok Hospital, which allows us to offer emergency support as needed. When a doctor assesses that a patient's condition is life-threatening, they may recommend an emergency transfer, with a corresponding request sent through the web app for the patient to review and confirm.

Medications & Prescriptions

When medication is needed, it's usually delivered straight to your hotel, generally within 1 to 1.5 hours after the doctor leaves. In most cases you won't have to purchase it yourself. That said, depending on your condition and what's available, the doctor might sometimes issue a prescription for you to fill at a pharmacy instead. Contact our support team for more details.

You're welcome to request particular medications as long as they're general, common, over-the-counter options — think basic pain relievers, fever reducers, or allergy medicine. For anything that requires a prescription or is more specialized, the doctor will need to examine you in person before deciding if it's suitable. We're not able to supply hospital-only medications or controlled substances. Contact our support team for more information.
